Qatar Airways Expands Network

Qatar Airways has decided that more is, in fact, more. In response to growing travel demand, the airline is cranking up flight frequencies to several key destinations across Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. Because what’s better than a flight to your dream destination? More flights to your dream destination.

Fresh off its 2024 Skytrax win as the World’s Best Airline (because, of course), Qatar Airways is expanding its already extensive network of over 170 destinations. And since its hub, Hamad International Airport, also scooped up the title of World’s Best Airport—plus Best Airport for Shopping—travelers can now enjoy even more opportunities to sprint between flights while resisting the urge to buy an overpriced designer handbag.

Qatar Airways Chief Commercial Officer Thierry Antinori summed it up best: “More flights mean more options, which means less stress for travelers—and probably more work for our scheduling team.” (Okay, maybe he didn’t say that last part, but it’s still true.)

So, where exactly is getting a boost?

Europe is getting extra love. Amsterdam jumps from 7 to 11 flights per week, Madrid sneaks up from 14 to 17, and London Heathrow—because clearly, 49 flights weren’t enough—is now at a staggering 56 weekly flights. British travelers, rejoice!

The Middle East sees a surge. Sharjah is now practically a shuttle service with 35 flights a week, and Damascus, which previously had just three flights, is suddenly sitting at 14. Talk about an upgrade.

Africa gets a solid boost. Flights to Dar Es Salaam-Kilimanjaro go from 3 to 7 per week, Entebbe moves up to 11, and the Maputo-Durban route is finally at a daily service of 7 flights. Tunis isn’t left behind either, jumping from 10 to 12.

Asia rounds it out. Tokyo Narita now has 14 flights per week, which is great news for sushi lovers and theme park enthusiasts alike.

Bottom line of Qatar Airways Expands Network? Qatar Airways is making sure you have more ways to get where you need to go. Whether you’re jetting off for business, leisure, or just because flights were on sale, the airline has you covered.
