Edelweiss Launches Zurich to Tbilisi Route

If you're still deciding between more fondue in Switzerland or something wildly unexpected, Edelweiss has just made that decision for you: say hello to direct flights from Zurich to Tbilisi, Georgia! The first flight took off on April 12, 2025, complete with a ribbon-cutting ceremony because yes, we celebrate the important things—like not having to connect through five airports to get to your khachapuri.

Two Flights a Week, Twice the Fun
Edelweiss will be whisking adventurous souls to Tbilisi twice a week until the end of October on a trusty Airbus A320. That gives you plenty of time to plan your escape to a place where East meets West, wine meets history, and your taste buds meet their destiny.

Why Tbilisi?
Imagine this: cobblestone streets lined with pastel balconies, underground sulphur baths, ancient churches, and street art that could moonlight in a gallery. Tbilisi is a glorious mash-up of European charm, Soviet nostalgia, and Oriental flair—like if Paris, Prague, and Istanbul had a stylish baby and raised it in the mountains.

And don’t even get us started on the food. Khinkali (Georgian dumplings) will ruin all other dumplings for you. The wine? It’s 8,000 years old and tastes like a good decision.

Time to Break Up with “The Usual”
Tired of the same old summer cities? Tbilisi says gamardjoba (that’s “hi” in Georgian, by the way). Whether you’re in it for the landscapes, the culture, or just want to casually hike in the Caucasus Mountains and then drink wine straight from a clay pot—you’re covered.

So go ahead, grab that ticket on Edelweiss. Because nothing says “spontaneous jet-setter” like casually dropping, “Oh, I’m off to Georgia this weekend.”
