Wizz Air Returns to Warsaw
Wizz Air Returns to Warsaw - Modlin After 13 Years and It’s Not Just for Nostalgia
Well, look who’s back from their “it’s not you, it’s me” phase. After a 13-year hiatus, Wizz Air has decided that Warsaw-Modlin Airport is, in fact, still hot. And they’re coming back with a bang—and by bang, we mean 11 new routes, two shiny A321neos, and enough purple branding to make your luggage feel fancy.
Mark Your Calendars (or Just Set 23 Alarms)
Starting December 1, 2025, Wizz Air begins its grand re-entry with flights to Athens, Barcelona, and Bergen. That’s three countries in one day, which frankly feels like showing off.
On December 2, things heat up with Bergamo, Chisinau, and Paphos. Just when you thought your travel budget had a fighting chance.
And by mid-December (Dec 15–16), they’re unleashing Malta, Sofia, Brindisi, and Palermo. Basically, if your December plans didn’t involve wine, sun, or Mediterranean carbs—fix that now.
Oh, and just to make sure you don’t get too cozy, March 31, 2026, they’re tossing Alghero (Sardinia) into the mix like a springtime curveball.
If you need help with your next event, incentive, meeting, conference or group to Poland, please
Frequency? Like, a Lot
Most of these routes will run 3 to 5 times a week, which is ideal for “accidental” long weekends. Bergamo gets daily service (pasta doesn’t rest) and Malta gets six weekly flights because… well, who doesn’t need a little sun therapy in February?
Why Modlin, You Ask?
Because Modlin is close to Warsaw, unlike that other airport (cough Radom cough) that’s a bit more “adventure” than convenience. Wizz Air is aiming to grow its Poland seat game by nearly 20% in 2025, staying firm as the country’s second-favourite airline—just behind Ryanair and ahead of “whoever gives you a seatbelt that works.”
Modlin’s Having a Moment
It’s not just Wizz coming back to the party. Ryanair’s already announced 25 new routes from Modlin and a goal of 5 million passengers annually by 2030. Air Arabia’s also joining the fun in December with flights from Sharjah.
Basically, Modlin is turning into the low-cost cool kid of Central Europe. And Wizz Air just RSVP’d with confetti.
