Where is the World’s Largest Swimming Pool?
Ever complained your hotel pool was too crowded? Imagine diving into one so big, you’d need a GPS and a kayak just to find the deep end.
Welcome to San Alfonso del Mar
In Algarrobo, Chile, you’ll find the San Alfonso del Mar resort, home to the Guinness World Record for the largest swimming pool. And when we say “large,” we don’t mean Olympic-sized. This beauty stretches over 1,000 meters long, covers 20 acres, and holds a mind-boggling 66 million gallons of water. That’s less “pool” and more “indoor sea with a side of chlorine-free luxury.”
A Pool You Can Sail In
The water is pumped straight from the Pacific Ocean, filtered until it’s dazzlingly clear, and then poured into your own private lagoon. Guests don’t just swim here—they kayak, sail, and even windsurf. Honestly, it’s less “splash around with floaties” and more “bring your boating license.”
Group Fun on a Mega Scale
If you’re planning an incentive trip or group getaway, this is the ultimate poolside brag. Team-building exercises could mean kayak races across a pool or simply seeing who can float the longest without drifting into another time zone.

Fun Thought about Where is the World’s Largest Swimming Pool?
If you tried swimming laps from one end to the other, you’d finish sometime next year—assuming you packed snacks and had a rescue boat on standby.
The Pool Perspective
So next time you think the walk from your lounge chair to the hotel pool is too far, just remember: somewhere in Chile, guests are literally checking the weather before they head to the other side of the pool.
Would you dip your toes in the giant pool… or rent a boat and treat it like your personal mini-ocean?
