Morocco Introduces E-Travel Pass for AFCON 2025 Fans

Morocco Introduces E-Travel Pass for AFCON 2025 Fans — Because Football + Bureaucracy = Match Made in Heaven

Football fans, rejoice! Or, at least, prepare your browsers. Morocco is rolling out a shiny new temporary e-travel authorization just for supporters heading to the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON 2025) — and yes, it involves yet another app.

From September 25, 2025, to January 25, 2026, supporters from eight African countries — Algeria, Burkina Faso, Cabo Verde, Gabon, Niger, Senegal, Togo, and Tunisia — will need an AEVM (Autorisation Électronique de Voyage au Maroc) to enter the country. Think of it as your VIP digital stamp to cheer, chant, and (hopefully) not cry over penalties in Morocco.

And the magic happens on the Yalla app, your all-in-one ticket to AFCON glory.

Yalla App: The Swiss Army Knife of Football Travel

If there were a “Fan Command Center,” this would be it. The Yalla app handles your Fan ID, match tickets, and now your travel authorization — basically everything except your emotional stability when your team misses a goal in the 89th minute.

Just upload your details, link your match tickets, and voilà! You’re cleared for takeoff (well, almost). Airlines like Royal Air Maroc will check your AEVM before you board, and border officers will scan it again when you land. So, no, printing it “just in case” isn’t overkill — it’s genius.

Why Morocco’s Doing This (Hint: It’s Not Just for Fun)

With tens of thousands of fans expected to pour into stadiums, airports, and kebab stands across Morocco, the government is trying to keep things smooth, safe, and efficient. Think of the AEVM as pre-boarding for the entire country — everyone gets screened before the big kickoff.

Plus, this move puts Morocco right in step with a global trend: digital entry systems. Everyone’s doing it — from Europe’s ETIAS project to South Africa’s upcoming e-visas. Morocco just decided to make it sporty.

How It Works (In Normal Human Terms)
  • Download Yalla – because apparently you need one more app on your phone.
  • Fill in your info – name, passport, and maybe your favorite striker (just kidding).
  • Attach your match tickets – no ticket, no travel pass.
  • Wait for approval – ideally before you get to the airport.
  • Show your AEVM to airline staff, border officers, and possibly that overexcited stadium usher.

Pro tip: keep your Fan ID, AEVM, and tickets handy — both on your phone and printed, because Wi-Fi and football crowds are not a reliable combo.

After the Final Whistle

The AEVM isn’t forever — it’s a limited-time deal. Once the AFCON party ends in January 2026, everything reverts to Morocco’s usual visa rules. So if you plan to stick around and explore the desert, mountains, or Marrakesh markets, keep an eye on those official updates.

Until then, make sure your phone’s charged, your paperwork’s uploaded, and your chants are ready. Morocco’s opening its digital doors — just don’t forget to knock first (with your AEVM code).
