SKY express adds Hamburg and Tirana to schedule
If SKY express had a frequent flyer card for new routes, it would be dangerously close to a free upgrade by now. Greece’s fast-growing airline has announced two fresh international additions to its network, linking Athens to Hamburg and Heraklion to Tirana — because clearly, sitting still is not part of the plan.
Athens–Hamburg: Guten Tag, Germany
First up is Athens–Hamburg, which officially took off in December 2025. This becomes SKY express’ fifth German destination, joining Munich, Frankfurt, Düsseldorf and Berlin — at this point, Germany is starting to feel like a second home.
The route operates three times a week (Mondays, Fridays and Sundays), which is perfect for business travellers, city-break fans, and anyone who enjoys saying, “I’m flying direct” with confidence. Germany remains a key market for Greek tourism and trade, so this one makes a lot of sense — practical, popular, and long overdue.
Flights are operated by SKY express’ modern Airbus A320neo and A321neo aircraft, meaning quieter cabins, better fuel efficiency, and fewer reasons for the environment to side-eye your holiday plans.

Heraklion–Tirana: The Balkans Meet the Beach
Meanwhile, over on Crete, SKY express is strengthening its Balkan connections with a new year-round route between Heraklion and Tirana. Flying twice weekly on Tuesdays and Saturdays, this service adds a very handy shortcut between Albania and Greece’s largest island.
It also builds nicely on the airline’s existing Athens–Tirana route, giving travellers more options and fewer airport hops. Whether it’s family visits, business travel, or tourism with a side of sunshine, this route ticks all the right boxes.
This one’s operated by the ATR 72-600, which is airline speak for “perfectly sized, efficient, and built for regional routes.”
Bigger Map, Bigger Ambitions
With these two additions, SKY express now serves 27 international destinations — and it’s not done yet. By the end of 2025, the airline will have fully rolled out six new international routes, including Berlin, Lyon, Tel Aviv, Madrid and Lisbon.
The message is clear: SKY express isn’t just expanding — it’s strategically stitching Greece more tightly into the European aviation map, while keeping sustainability and smart growth firmly in focus.
In short: more routes, more choices, fewer excuses not to travel. And judging by this pace, you might want to keep an eye on the departure board — SKY express is clearly not finished yet.
