Korean Air Simplifies Travel to Japan This Summer
Fellow travellers, the wait is over! Korean Air has announced new flights to Japan, making it easy to go this summer. Japan has it all, from cherry blossoms to sushi, to ancient castles. Starting March 29, 2026, Korean Air will expand summer service from Seoul Incheon to more destinations in Japan. This will provide more travel options to the Land of the Rising Sun for both leisure and business travel.
More Flights = More Freedom
Let’s talk about the numbers: the number of flights from Seoul to Komatsu are increasing from three a week to seven. That’s almost Doubling the number of flights to explore the Hokuriku region or even go to Kanazawa without worrying about a flight you might miss.
Aomori also gets an increase — flights increase from three to five per week. Now you have more chances to see the cherry blossoms in the spring or the vividly colored Nebuta Matsuri festival in the summer.
Fans of Okayama, you will be happy to know flights also increase from three to four weekly. now trips to Korakuen Garden or Okayama Castle require less of a scheduling headache. And as for Niigata, which is known for its rice, hot springs, and scenic beauty, flights are also increasing from three to seven starting 1 June 2026. More flights means more options. It is a simple math.

Some Daily Favorites (and a Few Tweaks)
Not everything is changing. Kumamoto still gets daily flights, so you can keep enjoying its castles, gardens, and local vibes without worrying about timing.
A couple of routes are slimming down, though. Flights to Kagoshima drop from seven to three per week, and Nagasaki goes from four to three. So if volcanoes or historic harbors are your thing, just plan ahead. Fewer flights, same amazing views.
The Big Cities Stay Solid
The big destinations aren't going anywhere anytime soon. Flights to and from Seoul still operate over multiple daily connections to Tokyo (Haneda & Narita), Osaka (Kansai), Nagoya, Fukuoka, Sapporo, and Okinawa. Kobe is also a daily destination — a western Japan gem with a harbor view, great food, and a quick hop over to Osaka.

Why This Matters
More flights mean more options. With Korean Air’s summer schedule, you can easily combine famous cities with lesser-known places. Shopping in Tokyo and relaxing in Aomori are now possible. With no flight worries, you can enjoy sushi, castles, hot springs, and cherry blossoms.
They are not just putting more planes in the sky. This summer, they are offering better, easier, and more flexible travel to Japan and Korean Air Simplifies Travel to Japan.
