Gdansk to Paris: LOT Polish Airlines Opens a New Chapter in an 80-Year Story

Four weekly flights from April 2027 connect Poland's Baltic coast directly to Paris-Orly. The Pomerania region gains a European gateway worth building programs around.

Eighty years ago, on 4 July 1946, LOT Polish Airlines flew its first direct service from Warsaw to Paris. The relationship has continued ever since, and the airline is marking the anniversary by adding a second Polish city to the story.

From 5 April 2027, LOT will operate a year-round direct route between Gdansk and Paris-Orly. Flying four times weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Departures from Gdansk are set for 5:00 PM, with return flights leaving Orly at 8:20 PM, and the journey takes roughly two hours and fifteen minutes.

Gdansk to Paris, what is not to love.

Why Paris-Orly Is the Smarter Arrival

Orly sits approximately 13 kilometres south of the city centre, which places it noticeably closer to central Paris than the alternative. For group travel, that proximity translates directly into shorter transfers and less time spent watching a coach navigate ring roads.

The transport links are excellent too, with metro line 14 reaching the city centre in around 25 to 30 minutes and connecting onward to Gare de Lyon and Châtelet-Les Halles. Tram line T7 and bus services provide additional options, which gives program designers flexibility on arrival day.

Paris Rewards Groups Who Go Beyond the Obvious

Everyone knows what Paris looks like, but relatively few groups experience what it actually offers when a knowledgeable local partner shapes the itinerary.

The district-level variety is where the city becomes interesting for program design. Montmartre carries its artistic history openly, with cobbled streets and studio spaces that still function as working ateliers. Saint-Germain-des-Prés delivers elegance and literary heritage in equal measure. Le Marais fills with galleries, independent boutiques, and café terraces that reward an unhurried afternoon.

The banks of the Seine form part of the city's UNESCO World Heritage listing, and a private evening cruise with a properly curated dinner service remains one of the most reliable program highlights in European incentive travel.

Beyond the headline museums, Paris holds a considerable collection of intimate galleries, neighbourhood markets, and restaurants that visitors rarely find on their own. This is precisely the territory where a DMC earns its fee, opening the version of the city that Parisians themselves know.

Versailles sits within easy reach for programs wanting a day of scale and spectacle, while the Champagne region lies close enough for a producer visit that turns a cellar tasting into a highlight rather than an errand.

Gdansk Deserves Its Own Attention

The route runs both ways, and Gdansk has become one of Northern Europe's most rewarding city destinations for group travel. The reconstructed Old Town along the Motlawa River is strikingly beautiful, with its merchant houses and the Crane standing as a reminder of the city's Hanseatic trading past.

The maritime and amber heritage gives programs a distinctive local thread, and workshop experiences around amber craftsmanship offer something groups will not encounter elsewhere. The European Solidarity Centre provides a powerful cultural anchor for programs wanting substance alongside spectacle.

The Baltic coast beaches at Sopot sit minutes away, and the seafood culture along the coast has improved considerably in recent years. For French corporate groups seeking somewhere fresh, Gdansk answers the brief comfortably.

Your DMC Connects Both Ends

The new route opens the Pomerania region to France and gives Polish groups a clean, short-haul link into one of Europe's great capitals. What it cannot do is arrange the private Seine evening, the Champagne cellar dinner, or the amber atelier session in Gdansk.
