Cotswolds to Loch Ness: Discover Airlines Lands in Britain for 2027

Frankfurt gains direct routes to Bristol, Glasgow and Inverness, with Munich joining the Glasgow map. Incentive planners, sharpen your pencils.

Somewhere in a boardroom right now, a planner is being asked for "something different, but easy to get to." That brief has broken stronger people than you.

Discover Airlines has just handed you an answer. From summer 2027, the leisure carrier adds Bristol, Glasgow and Inverness to its network.

All three fly direct from Frankfurt. Glasgow also picks up a Munich service, previously operated by Lufthansa. Flight time on each route sits at roughly two hours aboard an Airbus A320.

The Schedule, In Plain Numbers

Glasgow leads the charge from Frankfurt on 29 March 2027, building to six weekly flights in summer. Munich to Glasgow follows on 16 May with up to two weekly.

Bristol starts 17 May 2027 with two weekly flights. Inverness begins 19 June with one weekly service.

Combined with the existing Frankfurt to Shannon route, Discover's British and Irish offering reaches eleven weekly flights. Discover becomes the only carrier flying direct from Frankfurt to all three.

Marco G枚tz, Chief Commercial Officer, points to a clear trend toward nature, outdoor activity and trips blending culture with scenery. He is not wrong, and your qualifiers have noticed too.

Why Planners Should Care

Once-weekly Inverness means fixed arrival and departure days. That sounds restrictive until you realise it forces a tidy, well-paced program with no dead afternoons.

Six weekly Glasgow flights, by contrast, give you real flexibility for staggered arrivals. Split your group by region, land them across two days, and open with a proper welcome dinner.

Two German hubs collecting from Frankfurt and Munich also solves the multi-office assembly problem elegantly. European teams converge without anyone enduring a triple connection.

Bristol: The Cotswolds Are Closer Than You Think

Bristol drops you in southwest England, at the doorstep of honey-coloured stone villages and rolling hills. The Cotswolds do country-house luxury better than almost anywhere.

Picture a private dinner in a Georgian manor, with the group arriving by vintage cars. Add falconry on the lawn, a cider-making workshop, and a chef who forages that morning.

Bristol itself brings harbourside energy, street art, and a hot-air balloon tradition that photographs beautifully. Bath sits a short transfer away, and its Roman baths make an unforgettable private-hire venue.

Glasgow and Inverness: Scotland at Full Volume

Glasgow is a city that grins at you. Victorian architecture, a serious music scene, and warmth that puts groups at ease within an hour.

From there, Loch Lomond and the western Highlands open up quickly. Whisky distilleries, sea-loch cruises, and clay pigeon shooting on a private estate all sit within reach.

Inverness delivers the Highlands at their most cinematic. Mountains, moorland and lochs stretch out in every direction, including the legendary Loch Ness.

A Speyside distillery tasting hosted by the master blender lands well with senior teams. So does a castle takeover, complete with pipers and a ceilidh nobody expects to enjoy quite so much.

Your DMC Is the Difference

Booking is already open at discover-airlines.com, lufthansa.com, and through German tour operators and agencies. That is the easy part.

The hard part is access. Private estates, distillery vaults, castle hire and manor houses all run on relationships, not booking engines.
