Caspian to Caucasus: A Direct Route Reopens Between Kazakhstan and Armenia

Caspian to Caucasus: A Direct Route Reopens Between Kazakhstan and Armenia
FlyArystan restores twice-weekly Aktau to Yerevan flights from December 2026, stitching together two of the region's most rewarding incentive destinations.
Some route announcements make planners sit up. This one should make you reach for a map and start sketching a two-centre program.
FlyArystan restarts direct flights between Aktau and Yerevan on 16 December 2026. The service runs twice weekly, on Wednesdays and Fridays.
The airline first launched this connection in May 2023 before pausing it. Its return removes the indirect routings that made combining these destinations awkward.
The Timings You Actually Need
Wednesday departures leave Aktau at 12:35 and land in Yerevan at 13:20. The return departs Yerevan at 14:20, arriving in Aktau at 17:00.
Friday runs earlier. Aktau at 09:00, Yerevan at 09:40, with the return leaving at 10:40 and landing at 13:15.
All times are local. Both patterns give you a usable travel day rather than a wasted one, which matters when your program is tight.
Why Planners Should Care
Two fixed weekly departures shape your program length neatly. Wednesday to Friday, or Friday to Wednesday, gives you a clean incentive window with no filler days.
The bigger prize is the two-centre possibility. Caspian coast and Caucasus mountains in a single itinerary is a proposal that stands out in any pitch.
Regional buyers gain too. Corporate teams across western Kazakhstan can now reach Yerevan without a connection, which makes short leadership retreats viable.
Aktau: The Caspian Coast Nobody Has Photographed Yet
Aktau sits on limestone cliffs above the Caspian Sea, a city built without street names and organised by numbered districts. Your delegates will find that detail delightful.
The real draw lies beyond the city. Bozjyra Tract in the Mangystau region delivers chalk-white pinnacles rising from a desert floor.
It looks like another planet, and it photographs like one too. A sunset dinner staged among those formations is the kind of moment that justifies an incentive budget.
Underground mosques carved into rock, salt flats, and the pink waters of Kobyandy add further range. Camel treks and desert glamping suit groups who want genuine remoteness.

Yerevan: Pink Stone, Ancient Wine, Serious Hospitality
Yerevan glows. The city is built largely from local pink tuff stone, which turns golden at dusk across Republic Square.
Cascade Complex offers a giant stairway of terraced gardens and sculpture, and it works beautifully as an evening reception setting. Mount Ararat looms on the horizon behind it.
Armenia claims one of the world's oldest winemaking traditions, and the Areni region backs the claim with a 6,100-year-old cave winery. A private tasting there is a serious talking point.
Geghard Monastery, partly carved into rock, delivers acoustics that turn a choral performance into something close to hypnotic. Garni Temple sits nearby in a dramatic gorge.
The food deserves its own paragraph. Lavash baked in a tonir oven, apricots, herbs by the fistful, and brandy that Churchill famously admired.

Your DMC Is the Difference
Neither destination hands you its best moments through a booking platform. Bozjyra permits, private monastery access and cave-cellar tastings all run through local relationships.
Both markets also reward planners who arrive with proper ground expertise. Distances are long, and the difference between a good day and a lost one is logistics.
Let our destination partners build a Caspian-and-Caucasus program around two weekly flights.
