All Business Class to Düsseldorf: La Compagnie Crosses the Rhine

Up to five weekly all-business-class flights from Newark launch in spring 2027, opening the Rhine-Ruhr region to premium group travel.

Most transatlantic route news involves a cabin mix. This one involves no economy seats whatsoever.

La Compagnie will launch nonstop service between Newark Liberty International and Düsseldorf Airport in spring 2027. The route operates up to five times weekly during the summer season.

The aircraft is a new Airbus A321neo LR. La Compagnie will be the only airline offering nonstop service between New York and Düsseldorf.

Christian Vernet, President and CEO, called Düsseldorf a natural next chapter for the airline. Schedule details and tickets are available at LaCompagnie.com, through the call centre, and via travel advisors.

Why the Route Exists

North Rhine-Westphalia is one of Europe's most important economic centres. More than 24,000 international companies are based in the state, including roughly 1,700 US companies.

The United States is the region's most important non-European export market. Düsseldorf is also one of the world's leading trade show destinations.

Key sectors include fashion, telecommunications, life sciences, professional services and advanced manufacturing. That is a useful list for anyone building corporate travel programs.

Lars Redeligx, CEO of Düsseldorf Airport, described the product as clearly defined and designed for efficient transatlantic travel. He noted the offer is unique in Germany.

The Onboard Proposition

Every seat converts into a fully flat bed. The experience runs end to end, from lounge access at departure onward.

Newark passengers use Lounge&Co, the airline's recently renovated private lounge. Düsseldorf passengers access the DUS Sky Lounge in Pier C.

Onboard includes complimentary gate-to-gate unlimited high-speed Wi-Fi and state-of-the-art entertainment. Seasonal menus from renowned chefs pair with French wines and Champagne.

Baggage allowance is generous, and amenity kits feature Beau Domaine skincare.

Why Planners Should Care

A single-cabin aircraft solves a recurring headache. Nobody sits in economy while their colleague sits in flat-bed business.

For top-tier incentive groups and board-level travel, that uniformity is worth real money in perceived value. It also removes the awkward conversation about seat allocation entirely.

Small aircraft means intimate groups. An A321neo suits 60 to 100 delegates, which fits most President's Club cohorts neatly.

Düsseldorf's proximity to the Netherlands and Belgium makes it attractive for travellers from neighbouring regions. That widens your assembly options considerably.

La Compagnie already connects Newark with Paris Orly, Nice Côte d'Azur and Milan Malpensa. New York to Nice recently extended into winter for the first time.

A third A321neo LR arrives in 2027, with a fourth A321neo XLR in 2028. The newer aircraft reduce CO2 emissions by up to 30% compared with the previous-generation fleet.

Düsseldorf and the Rhineland

Düsseldorf itself brings art, architecture, shopping and gastronomy. The Königsallee handles the retail brief, while the MedienHafen delivers striking contemporary architecture.

Altstadt is famous for its Altbier and a bar density that makes evening programming easy. Museum Kunstpalast and the K20 gallery cover the cultural side properly.

The wider region is the real prize. Düsseldorf serves as a gateway to the Rhineland's historic towns, vineyards and castles.

Renowned river-cruise itineraries run along the Rhine, which suits group travel elegantly. A chartered stretch between castles is a memorable afternoon.

Cologne sits close by, and the Rhine wine regions offer vineyard lunches with terraced valley views. Castle hotels handle exclusive-use requirements well.

Your DMC Is the Difference

Castle exclusivity, private Rhine charters and vineyard buyouts all depend on established relationships. Trade show season also compresses hotel availability sharply.

A ground partner who knows the Messe calendar saves you from booking into a trade fair week unknowingly.

Let our destination partners build a program worthy of a cabin with no economy seats.
