Orlando to Colombia From $99: Frontier Opens South America
Three new nonstop routes to Bogotá, Medellín and Cartagena launch in December, marking Frontier's first-ever service to South America.
Budget carriers rarely feature in incentive conversations. This announcement deserves an exception.
Frontier Airlines has announced its first-ever service to South America. Three nonstop routes connect Orlando International Airport with Colombia from December.
Medellín starts 10 December 2026 with daily service, from $169. Bogotá follows on 14 December, initially six times weekly and increasing to daily from 6 March 2027, from $99.
Cartagena begins 19 December, operating once weekly, from $129. All three routes remain subject to government approval.
The Positioning
Tyri Squyres, vice president of public and consumer affairs, pointed to strong unmet demand for low-cost travel between Orlando and Colombia. She described both as magnificent destinations.
Lance Lyttle, Chief Executive Officer of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority, welcomed the expansion. He cited stronger connectivity with Colombia and demand for affordable international travel from Central Florida.
Frontier has also introduced changes under what it calls The New Frontier. UpFront Plus seating offers extra legroom in the first two rows, with a window or aisle seat and a guaranteed empty middle seat.
First Class seating debuts in 2026. The airline also offers unlimited companion travel for its most loyal customers.
Frontier Miles rewards members per dollar spent, with Elite status attainable at 10,000 points for 2026. Perks include priority boarding and free bags depending on level.
Why Planners Should Care
Cost structure is the headline for group buyers. Low base fares free up budget for the ground program, which is where delegates actually form their memories.
Orlando is also a strong assembly point. It connects widely across the eastern United States and handles high volumes efficiently.
Route frequency shapes your options. Daily Medellín service supports staggered arrivals and flexible departures.
Weekly Cartagena is more prescriptive. A Saturday-to-Saturday program works, or fly into Medellín and transfer for the beach leg.
That combination is the smart play. Two-centre Colombia programs pair city energy with Caribbean coastline neatly.

Orlando: Build In the Bookend
Orlando is too often treated as a connecting point. Give it two or three nights and it earns them.
The theme park offer needs little introduction, and it scales unusually well for groups. Park buyouts, after-hours access and private ride experiences all exist for corporate buyers with the right partner.
Beyond the parks, the city has grown a substantial convention infrastructure. The Orange County Convention Center is among the largest in North America, with hotel capacity to match.
Kennedy Space Center sits roughly an hour east on the Space Coast. Astronaut meet-and-greets, launch viewing and dinner beneath a Saturn V rocket make an outstanding gala setting.
For something slower, the wetlands and lakes around the city support airboat rides through cypress country. Winter Park adds boutique shopping, a boat tour through connected canals, and the Morse Museum's Tiffany glass collection.
Golf is strong year-round, with courses across the region built for group play. Lake Nona and Reunion handle corporate tournaments comfortably.
Dining has matured considerably beyond the resort circuit. The Milk District and Mills 50 neighbourhoods deliver independent kitchens with real character.

Medellín: The City of Eternal Spring
Medellín sits in a valley at around 1,500 metres, which gives it famously consistent temperatures. That alone makes year-round programming straightforward.
The city's transformation story is compelling and well told locally. Cable car rides over the hillsides deliver both views and context.
Comuna 13 walking tours with local guides are powerful and genuinely moving. Street art, music and community-led enterprise carry the experience.
Beyond the city, Guatapé offers a coloured lakeside town and a monolith with 700 steps to climb. Coffee farms in the surrounding hills host tastings and harvest experiences.
Dining has climbed sharply. Contemporary Colombian kitchens, rooftop bars in El Poblado, and market tours through Minorista.
Cartagena and Bogotá
Cartagena is the reward leg, and it is a strong one. Walled colonial old town, bougainvillea over balconies, and horse-drawn arrivals into candlelit plazas.
Private dinners in courtyard mansions are outstanding. The Rosario Islands sit a short boat ride away for beach days and catamaran charters.
Bogotá brings altitude, scale and culture. The Gold Museum holds a remarkable pre-Columbian collection, and Monserrate offers panoramic views by funicular.
La Candelaria's colonial streets, a serious restaurant scene, and Andean day trips to Zipaquirá's salt cathedral round it out.
