Pacific Hub Reconnected: Fiji Airways Restores Nadi to Nouméa Flights
Island programs live or die on connectivity. Fiji has just strengthened its hand considerably.
Fiji Airways reinstated direct flights between Nadi and Nouméa on 22 September 2026. The service operates twice weekly on Tuesdays and Fridays.
Fiji Link's ATR 72-600 aircraft operates the route. The restoration adds more than 10,000 seats annually between the two destinations.
FJ 291 departs Nadi at 08:00 and arrives in Nouméa at 10:00. FJ 290 returns at 12:00, landing in Nadi at 16:00.
The Hub Strategy Behind It
Paul Scurrah, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, called the return an important milestone. He framed it as reinforcing Fiji's place as the Pacific's connecting hub.
The route gives New Caledonian travellers access well beyond Fiji itself. Onward connections through Nadi reach Los Angeles, San Francisco, Vancouver, Honolulu, Sydney, Auckland, Singapore and Hong Kong.
Nouméa and Suva both host key intergovernmental and development organisations. That creates a professional corridor for delegates, consultants and partners across the region.
Launch fares run from FJD 889 return in Lite Economy and FJD 1,049 in Value Economy. The sale period ran from 22 September to 6 October 2026, for travel through 31 August 2027.
