Why Exhibit
This fishing and aquaculture sector is the cornerstone of the Icelandic economy. Fish and fishery products deliver 35% of Iceland's total exports. Icelandic Fisheries & Aquaculture Exhibition is the largest fishing and aquaculture trade event in Iceland, uniting the sector with the backing of all key industry associations.Engaging in IceFish provides a multitude of advantages. Iceland's fleet of 1,561 registered commercial fishing vessels is always fostering demand for new tech, equipment, and services for buyers in fishing and associated industries. Iceland is a champion of sustainability and utilisation, exemplified by the Iceland Ocean Cluster’s 100% Fish project. Together with research institutes and private enterprises, the initiative is focused on innovation to utilize byproducts of the country’s US $2-billion seafood industry. Such efforts create Iceland and global business opportunities.
Exhibitors also benefit from IceFish and exhibitors' magazine, World Fishing & Aquaculture, with a reach of 26,700+ industry professionals. Marketing and social media campaigns in Iceland will ensure industry-wide attendance. Event organizers collaborate with key Icelandic stakeholders to manage visiting foreign delegations, ensuring the exhibition garners substantial interest. It's a prime event for international business development and collaboration, and a priority for exhibitors.
Meet high-intent buyers from across the seafood and aquaculture value chain in the world’s leading marketplace. Showcase innovations, build partnerships, and grow your footprint in capture fisheries and aquaculture.
The Awards
Another significant feature of IceFish is the Icelandic Fisheries & Aquaculture Awards, which celebrate the most successful individuals and companies in the fishing, aquaculture, and seafood industries. Having first taken place in 1999, the awards have become the leading awards in the industry.
The 2024 awards had special importance as it was the first IceFish for several of the long-standing exhibitors, which included Atlas, Baader, Marel, Saeplast, and other well-known global companies who have shaped the industry.
Icelandic fishing industry has constantly evolved, and 2026 will see the introduction of awards for new categories.
The Country
Iceland is the exhibition's venue, which is considered the most exotic place for the exhibition. Iceland has the most modern industry as well as the most breath-taking environment. Iceland is Europe's second largest island, and is home to an array of nature's wonders: glaciers, volcanoes, geysers, hot springs, and over 10,000 waterfalls. Iceland is also home to the most one million puffins, as well as the northern lights and the midnight sun.
The northernmost capital in Europe, Reykjavík, is closer to New York than Los Angeles, and most major cities in Western Europe are only a 2-4 hour flight from Reykjavík.
Reykjavik is a beautiful city with adequate hotels, restaurants, and cultural amenities, as well as a vibrant nightlife. At about 200,000 residents, the city is home to almost 60% of Iceland’s population. The famous Blue Lagoon is among the many attractions the city has to offer.
Conferences
This 2026 Conference program will co-locate with the IceFish Exhibition and expand on the five previous editions of the Fish Waste for Profit Conference by offering two full conferences, one on 100% fish utilization and the other on Aquaculture.
The 100% Fish for Profit Conference (this is a rebrand of the Fish Waste for Profit Conference) focuses on how to create value from every fish. Utilizing a fish for diverse high value products across various market segments is important. This conference will present for the first time the owners, CEO’s and top level leaders of the fish, aquaculture and fish processing industry with their supply chain colleagues. The conference will create a platform for top level dialogue, innovation, and value creation.
The Driving Sustainable Growth Conference on Aquaculture will take place with the foremost players in aquaculture from Iceland and the world’s cutting-edge innovators and policy makers in the field. Over the course of a day, we will explore Iceland’s distinctive position as a global aquaculture industry hub and emphasize the technologies, sustainable production methods, and innovative strategies that will support flexible and responsible development in local and global markets.
