What is The Canton Fair?
The Canton Fair is formally referred to as the China Import and Export Fair and has been in operation since 1957. Compared to most international events, this event is even better organized as it takes place at the huge China Import and Export Fair Complex on Pazhou Island. The event is comprised of three phases held in separate seasons. Each season covers different topics. Phase 1 involves electronics, lighting, industrial equipment, and advanced technology, while this year's plan includes a special section for service robots with AI technology. Phase 2 includes consumer products, home accessories, construction materials, and bathroom fittings. The final stage covers textiles, fashion, and medicals. The event takes place with a new and different set of exhibitors and new product categories, so it is advisable to plan at which stage you will be at with respect to sourcing your products.

Thinking about the scale of the event is mind-blowing, with 25,000 exhibitors and 200,000 buyers expected at the 2027 Canton Fair. The event will be held at a venue that covers a total of 1.1 million square metres, with over 338,000 of them being exhibition space. What this means is that you can spend an entire day wandering and will still not be able to see it all. The Canton Fair is a serious sourcing venue, and it is at the venue that deals will be signed and business cards and handshakes will create relationships that will last for decades.
How to reach Guangzhou Fair Exhibition and how to move further
You can easily fly to Baiyun International Airport and take the metro to the Fair Exhibition Center in just under one hour. Pazhou Station is conveniently located next to the expostion center which in turn is on Metro Line 8 (8 minutes rapidly increases the number of attendees). For the convenience of the attendees and to help them conduct business efficiently in different halls and sections of the exposition, several participating hotels offer shuttle buses directly to the Fair Exhibition Center.
