Kaunas Jazz Festival 2026 - A Celebration of Music
Dates: 16th - 27th April 2026 in Lithuania. If jazz had a holiday home, it would definitely be in Kaunas. And in 2026, the city is once again rolling out the musical red carpet for what promises to be another unforgettable edition of the Kaunas Jazz Festival—aka the event where even your grandma might spontaneously scat sing.
Jazz Hands at the Ready
Every spring, Kaunas transforms into the Baltic capital of jazz cool, and 2026 is tuning up to be bigger, brassier, and funkier than ever. Expect a smorgasbord of sounds: from velvety classics that make you feel like you’re in a noir film, to wild experimental stuff that might involve a guy playing a trumpet with a carrot (hey, it’s jazz—anything goes).
Whether you’re a die-hard fan who knows their Coltrane from their Corea, or you just think jazz is the thing they play in coffee shops when it’s raining, this festival will hit the right note.

Global Grooves, Lithuanian Soul
Kaunas Jazz isn’t just a bunch of concerts—it’s a celebration of musical fusion. International legends share the stage with rising stars and local Lithuanian talent who are ready to blow your mind (and your speakers). And in 2026, we’re expecting even more magical mash-ups—think Paris meets Vilnius in a duet, or Tokyo jams with Trakai.
It’s one part festival, one part cultural diplomacy, and 100% smooth.
It’s Not Just About the Music... But Mostly It Is
Sure, there’s music everywhere—on stages, in streets, maybe even in your hotel lobby if you’re lucky. But Kaunas is also pretty easy on the eyes. So, between gigs, grab a coffee in the Old Town, wander into an art gallery, or just sit back and pretend you’re the main character in a moody European drama.
From cozy clubs where the bassline hugs you like an old friend, to grand halls where the acoustics make every note feel like a revelation—Kaunas has venues for every vibe.
For Everyone With Ears
You don’t have to know what a flugelhorn is to enjoy this. Kaunas Jazz is for everyone—from purists who speak fluent bebop to newcomers wondering why there’s no singing. It’s inclusive, welcoming, and occasionally weird (in the best way possible).
And don’t be surprised if the music spills out onto the streets. This is Kaunas, after all—when jazz takes over, it takes over.
A Cultural Powerhouse in 4/4 Time
This is no ordinary music festival; it is a bold declaration. Kaunas Jazz is Lithuania’s missive to the world, composed in syncopated rhythm. It is a networking opportunity for the industry, a collaboration for the artists, and for everyone to experience the beauty of live music, as opposed to listening to it on Spotify.
