TRNSMT Festival 2026

TRNSMT Festival 2026
Dates taking place: 19th – 21st June 2026
Location: Glasgow Green, Glasgow, Scotland
There are music festivals in parks. There are a lot of music festivals in parks. Most of them are fine. One or two of them are exceptional. TRNSMT 2026 — three days on Glasgow Green in the middle of June, with a lineup that has been getting bigger and more serious every year since the festival launched in 2017 — is in the second category and has been there for long enough now that it has stopped being a surprise and started being an expectation.
TRNSMT Festival 2026 runs from the 19th to the 21st of June. Three days. Multiple stages. Glasgow Green — one of the oldest public parks in Scotland, sitting on the north bank of the Clyde with the city behind it and the particular quality of a Glasgow summer evening doing its thing across the whole site in a way that festival organisers in other cities would pay significant money to replicate and cannot.
The lineup will be announced. It will be worth checking. It has been worth checking every year since 2017 and 2026 has no particular reason to be the exception.
The Lineup, Which Is the Point
TRNSMT has built its reputation on headline acts — the kind of names that fill Glasgow Green's main stage and justify a three-day festival ticket on their own before the supporting bill has been considered. Rock, indie, pop, the acts that resist easy categorisation and the ones that defined a generation and are still doing it.
Scottish artists feature on the bill with the prominence they deserve from a festival that understands where it is and what that means — the Glasgow crowd's relationship with Scottish music is not a neutral one and TRNSMT has always understood this and programmed accordingly.
The supporting stages do their own considerable thing around the headline programme. New acts, emerging artists, the discovery that becomes the act everyone talks about in the weeks after the festival — the name you saw on the second stage on Saturday afternoon that you hadn't heard of before and haven't stopped listening to since. TRNSMT produces that outcome reliably. It is the mark of a festival that is paying attention to its programme rather than just filling it.

Glasgow Green in June
Glasgow Green on a June weekend is Glasgow making its best case for itself — the park alive, the city around it, the Clyde doing what the Clyde does in summer, which is look considerably better than it gets credit for. The site is urban in the specific way that Glasgow is urban — not trying to be a field in the countryside, not pretending to be something it isn't, but using the city as the backdrop in the way that festivals in parks in great cities always can and TRNSMT does particularly well.
June is the right month. The longest days of the year — the light lasting until ten, eleven, the summer solstice doing what it does at this latitude and producing evenings that the main stage performances benefit from in a way that no lighting rig has ever fully replicated. A headline act on the TRNSMT main stage at nine o'clock on a June evening, with the Glasgow skyline behind it and the light still present overhead, is a specific and unrepeatable combination.
The weather is Glasgow's best offer in June. Bring a waterproof. Wear it as a layer when you don't need it as a waterproof. The evenings are worth being present for and being present for them is easier when you're not cold.
Glasgow Around the Festival
TRNSMT takes place in Glasgow, which is either a logistical detail or the best thing about the festival depending on how you approach it. Glasgow is the city that has been described with the slightly surprised affection of people who arrived without strong expectations and left wanting to come back — the architecture, the art galleries, the music venues that operate entirely independently of TRNSMT and are excellent regardless, the restaurant scene that has been quietly improving for years and is now genuinely good.
The West End for the days around the festival. The Merchant City for the evenings that don't involve Glasgow Green. The music venues for the nights when TRNSMT has finished and Glasgow hasn't — because Glasgow on a June weekend does not finish when the main stage does and the city around the festival is part of the experience whether you plan it that way or not.
TRNSMT is three days. Glasgow is available for as many days before and after as the itinerary allows. Both are worth using.
For DMCs and Incentive Planners: Glasgow in June With a Festival in It
For travel professionals, TRNSMT Festival 2026 is the kind of event that improves a Glasgow programme that was already strong. Three days of major music festival programming on Glasgow Green — headline acts, multiple stages, the full festival experience in a city that provides everything around it without effort.
The Glasgow combination is easy to build — the festival for the three days, the city for the days around it, the West End and the Merchant City and the music venues and the restaurants and the Clyde and the architecture filling everything else with the ease of a destination that doesn't need a festival to justify itself but is considerably better for having one.
For incentive groups, TRNSMT delivers the shared music experience that festival-based incentive travel aims for — headline acts on a main stage, the atmosphere of a major outdoor festival in June, a city that provides the right backdrop and the right continuation after the music stops. The group that attends TRNSMT together leaves with the shared reference point that good incentive travel produces — the headline set on Saturday night, the discovery on the second stage on Friday afternoon, the Glasgow evening that followed.
