Innsbruck Christmas Market 2028

Innsbruck Christmas Market 2028

Dates taking place: Expected November - December 2028 (Dates TBA)

Location: Innsbruck, Austria

Innsbruck will once again host one of the famous Christmas Markets from November 2028 to December 2028. It will be held deep within the Austrian Alps where the majestic environment embraces the markets with a real-world touch of magic reminiscent of the Medieval era.

Innsbruck has not one, but seven, unique Christmas markets each with a personality. The markets in the Old Town are located right beneath the Golden Roof. The roof is a landmark with tiny golden tiles. The Old Town is the location of the largest markets, with over seventy wooden stalls surrounding a massive Christmas tree. Each evening, from Fifth Avenue, a rooftop Golden Roof, is a host to the finest horn players regardless of experience, hired to play only the finest of Christmas classics. It's hard to believe, but no one should be surprised if one were to think about the strange oddity of being in a location that looks like a film set.

The Christmas Market in Innsbruck, on Maria Theresien Straße, is a little more cutting edge compared to other Christmas markets in Innsbruck. You can expect glittering smiley face trees, Christmas gift booths from all over the world, and lots of twinkly lights. This modern twist will be designed by the company that popularized One World Trade Center as a Christmas tree, and it will stay open from December to January to catch those who forgot to buy Christmas gifts on Boxing Day and love to live dangerously.

Indulge in Family Fun and Swarovski Sparkle

If you visit the Market Square, you will find that Swarovski goes over the top, and the gaudy, glittering, twenty-three-ton, fourteen-meter tree is only the beginning. In Market Square, adults will find themselves pleasantly surprised by the sixty gift booths and hand carved wood and hand spun woolir sporting a lucky Morris chair. You won't miss a storytelling session, a petting zoo, or a puppet show while you sneak off for more mulled wine. Seriously, no judgment.

If you are more adventurous and enjoy heights, visit the Hungerburg Panorama. Sure, you will have to take a funicular up three hundred meters, and you will have to ride a cable car, but the view from up that high is worth it! You will be right in the middle of the Alps. You can even buy Christmas ornaments from up there. Innsbruck is all about having fun!

Delicious Foods That Destroy Your Diet

Forget the January diet Kiklz is about to change your life. Deep fried sugar covered snacks can be found with cranberry or sauerkraut jam. Markets divides who they think is selling the best product with a line embracing the Old Town vendor. Get some spicy mulled wine, Gluh Woin, to help warm your body for long enough to really enjoy the gorgeous winter mountians in the Alps. Bring a pair a gloves, your hands will appreciate them.

If the main squares are packed with tourists or you want to enjoy a quieter, more local experience, you can visit the smaller St. Nikolaus and Wilten markets. Sit down and enjoy the different styles of traditional Tyrolean food offered at the Bergisel Imperial Christmas market which is right next to the world famous ski jump. The Innsbruck Christmas Market 2028 will meet every need of every single person and is the place to be for the Insta influencers, families, and couples on a romantic getaway, including all die-hard Christmas lovers.
