Saulkrasti Jazz Festival 2027
Dates taking place: July 2027 (exact dates TBC);
Location: Saulkrasti, Latvia
Just in case your summer plans are a little too same old same old, it goes without saying Saulkrasti Jazz Festival 2027 is here to blow a saxophone solo, twinkly sunset and very good reason to book that trip to Latvia straight into the mix.
Imagine this: warm coastal air, the gentle crashing of Baltic waves and jazz notes wafting across the lush pine forests, open-air stages. Not only the festival, but its a chill out getaway with rhythm & good vibes where the music and nature decides to join forces.
Why This Festival Gets It Right
The Saulkrasti Jazz Festival has slowly earned the right to be called one of Northern Europe’s most lovely jazz festivals. It draws in gifted musicians, performers on the rise and seasoned players from all corners of Europe and beyond.
The program includes everything from smooth jazz and swing to experimental improvisation—so whether you know your Coltrane from your coffee order or are just looking for the mood, and a lot of space for gentle head-nodding, there is something here for every type of listener.
They hold concerts in small venues and open air, so every concert is somehow a close event. Trample-free traffic jams—pure palpable music.

A Festival That Feels Effortless
Saulkrasti is quaint in a refreshingly unaffect way. No having to rush between festivals to catch a set or debating whether to fish your way through the crowd for an unobstructed view. Here, you wander. You listen. You just sit back, kick up your feet and let the music happen.
Workshops and masterclasses bring musicians together with fans during the day to go behind-the-scenes in the craft. Conversations come quickly––about music theory or life, about where to find the best local pastries (who knew that was a fiercely debated topic).
If the afternoon performances give off a gentle lumosity, then when the night concerts commence it transcends into something slowly metamagical. The kind of space where every note cuts a little deeper.
The Charm of Saulkrasti
Then there’s the location itself. Saulkrasti is the small town by the sea with a lot of charm. Imagine sandy beaches, piney trails, and sunsets made for Instagram.
Particularly where mornings layer slowly; in afternoons the Universe ebbs and flows, evenings are for music and camaraderie. If you feel crazy in between performances, the Baltic Sea is a swim away, there are nature trails to explore or if all else fails—do nothing at all—which here feels like the most useful of activities.
Why You Should Be There
The 2027 Saulkrasti Jazz Festival is not a headline hunt or ultra-full schedule. Whether it be about the quality, ambience or connection. You walk away with new favorite artists, a meager understanding of jazz (or at least the confidence to fake one) and a feeling that you just got your first taste of something special.
This is a serious sleeper for travel planners. It brings together culture, relaxation, and an environment that's as luxe as it is personalized. Throw in some sea-based fun, boutique lodging and curated group experiences and you have a summer event that’s unique without being cringey.
Come for the music. Stay for the atmosphere. Exit wondering even more so why all festivals are not this easy breezy cool.
