What Is This Place?
Once a year, the vast and stunningly desolate Tankwa Karoo becomes Tankwa Town, a temporary city that people literally build from the ground up. There are zero sponsors, zero food vendors, zero corporate logos and literally no one is selling you a branded water bottle. What you do get is a breathtaking collection of human creativity, community. Artists, engineers, musicians, and costume designers and simply the curious come to this place. The goal? Build something useful to the community and of course leave without a trace.

Dust, freezing nights, and blazing hot days dominate the week. somehow all the circumstances enchanted. At the festival, people ride pussy drug goats and soldiers of doom bikes under costumes.
