There're airports and then there's Trenčín Airport, which at some point, looked at their runway and thought, "Why not put Gorillaz on it?" And that's essentially Pohoda Festival's origin; one of Central Europe's favorite and wonderfully chaotic festivals celebrating music, art, culture, and our universal desire to dance terribly on a field. Since it's their 30th anniversary, Pohoda Festival 2026, without doubt, will be the largest, the loudest, and actually the most significant summer gathering Slovakia has hosted.
What Even Is Pohoda?
Pohoda translates to ‘comfort, calm, and wellbeing’ in the Slovak language. And no one is repulsed by the contrast between the name of a four-day, multi-genre festival and that of an idea you get while laying on a couch, but it works. Member of a few bands Michal Kaščák and Mário Michna pioneered this festival and it has grown from a small, local music festival to an event of global significance. Consistently ranked in the top medium-sized music festivals, which is an impressive achievement for an event that takes place in a working airfield in Western Slovakia.
