FA Cup 2026 - Final - Just pure UK Football!
Location: London, United Kingdom
Dates: Final – 16 May 2026
The FA Cup 2026 is set to be an absolute cracker of a FA Cup this year! Recent broadcast deals and what some predict to be a significant shift in team approaches also have potential to electrify football fans. Ahead of the 2025-26 campaign, the FA has taken significant steps to improve how the FA Cup is viewed and accessed.
Broadcast Partnerships and Enhanced Coverage
Perhaps the most significant change surrounding the FA Cup 2026 is the fresh TV deal brought by the FA with TNT Sports and the BBC. This four-year deal, which takes effect starting in the 2025-26 season, will bring more games to viewers than ever before. TNT Sports will show every game from the first round, while every game from the third round onwards will be live apart from 3pm kick-offs. All this will make sure you will not miss a second of the fight across the rounds and to the final event at Wembley Stadium.
The BBC will show free-to-air live coverage, as it has done since 1999, co-exclusively covering 14 matches per season, including two live matches from each round of matches up to the quarter-finals, one semi-final and the final. With a view to making the FA Cup 2026 more accessible to a greater number of people throughout the country, this time the FA Cup will offer the magic of the FA Cup that even includes football fans.
Teams to Watch in FA Cup 2026
The FA Cup, as ever, is a comp known for its unpredictability and incentive of giant-killing. The 2026 version should be no exception. There will be all the giants of the Premier League including Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea who will be looking to flex their muscles, while those from further down will be looking to cause upsets and create famous moments.
Then there is the likes of Wrexham, and Salford City who have come on leaps and bounds in recent seasons and are the ‘dark horses’ of the competition. These clubs have splurged on both the playing staff and infrastructure and prove to be very difficult opponents for any top-flight team.
The Role of Grassroots Football
The FA Cup 2026 will also focus on promoting grassroots football, which is a crucial aspect of the FA's mission. The funds generated from the new broadcast deals will be reinvested into local football clubs and facilities, providing young talents with better opportunities and resources to develop their skills.
The FA's commitment to grassroots football ensures that the competition not only celebrates the top-tier teams but also nurtures the next generation of football stars. This holistic approach to the sport helps maintain the rich tradition and community spirit that the FA Cup is known for.
Memorable Moments and Unforgettable Matches
It’s always the way with the FA Cup – that is the kind of tales and magic that makes the FA Cup. There will be more of these magical moments in the 2026 tournament. With last-gasp winners to penalty shootout drama, the FA Cup 2026 will keep football fans on the edge of their seats.
Whether its a non-league team shocking a Premier League giant and taking them all the way to extra time, a young sensation making himself a household name or a coming of age story involving underdogs fighting their way towards glory, FA Cup 2026 is destined to produce an unforgettable moment that cannot be forgotten for years to come.
