The Setting: Polo and Garden Party
While the atmosphere is intense on the field, the ambiance and crowd around is chill and social. The crowd gets totally involved, like all spectators, with picnic belts, hip glasses, and as expert as they get.
A one of the most unique, elegant, and sociable traditions of the game is when, during half time, spectators get to walk on the field and stomp the divots back into place like a grand feast. The spectators got to help repair the field as the only crowd in any sport to help the grounds crew.
Food stands, local wine, and Argentinian grilled delicacies make the time between games enjoyable. Plus, there's the lovely green space around the club north of Buenos Aires, which makes the whole experience feel more like a day in the country than an event at a stadium.
