Competition Details
In simple terms, an IRONMAN is a long-distance series of three endurance races, namely swimming, cycling, and running. It's a triathlon. Wörthersee is the finishing point for the participants of the swim-leg and the starting point of the cycle-leg. The lake is surrounded by the beautiful and serene Karnten region of Austria. Wörthersee ripples as a participant crosses the swim-leg. The cycling-leg and running-leg take place outside Karnten and then returns to Klagenfurt. The finish-line atmosphere is emotionally overwhelming. High-fives and hugs from complete strangers as tears fall down one's face are the ultimate forms of expressing one's joy and excitement.

A Race With History
This is not a shiny brand new event. IRONMAN Kärnten 2027 is based on a tradition that goes back to 1998, making it one of the oldest and most established IRONMAN events in all of Europe. Over the years, the event has attracted more than 3,000 athletes from about 70 countries. It has grown to become a beloved event, with the global triathlon community touting this event. It has become so popular that it sells out every year, sometimes even in the first few months after it opens up registrations.
