L'Étape Slovakia 2028

L'Étape Slovakia 2028

Dates Taking Place: August 2028 (Dates TBA)

Location: Slovakia

Some people look at mountains and have the immediate thought, “I should ride my bike up that.” If this describes you, you have finally found your people. L'Étape Slovakia 2028 is here with everything you love about painful uphill cycling, all at high altitudes, while grinning like a fool.

What is L'Étape?

For those who don’t know, L'Étape by Tour de France is a series of cycling events that allow participants to ride on the official routes of each stage of the Tour de France. This event is not based on the real thing with open roads. Travel to 2028 and you will find Slovakia's closed roads. This is the real deal. Amateur cyclists worldwide will finally, for the first time, be able to ride the closed roads of the L'Étape by Tour de France, to experience the beautiful Alps, which are usually only featured on TV with a French announcer and confusing team names.

Slovakia: More Than a Spelling Exercise

Slovakia is underrated. Being landlocked between Austria, Hungary, the Czech Republic, and Poland, it is often ignored by travelers as they fly continuously to neighboring countries. Their loss! Slovakia has a variety of natural phenomena, including the High Tatras. The High Tatras has some of the most beautiful mountain terrain in Central Europe. Slovakia is also rich with medieval castles, quaint villages, great-tasting dishes, and more! Road cycling in Slovakia is a surprise to most, and the L'Étape Slovakia 2028 will road cycle Slovakia for the first time, creating a backdrop for a major cycling event!

The Ride Itself

There is no doubt that the Slovakia 2028 circuit will test the riders' legs, their lungs, and most importantly, their relationship with hills. Designed to be an event for dedicated amateurs with a decent level of fitness, there is no need to have years of experience as a cyclist; however, this is not a “just signed up and purchased a bike” situation. The climbing will indeed be a challenge, the distances will be realistic, and the scenery, apart from the beauty and danger of the roads from the spotty and unpredictable road, will momentarily take your mind off your aching knees.

The Atmosphere

The atmosphere surrounding an event can make or break your experience at a sportive, but in L'Étape events, you can expect a star village, tons of crowd support, timing chips, and stocked feed zones. And don't forget to make your way over to the ivory tower of sponsored carbs and the explosive energy of thousands of cyclists who are all nervous about undertaking a challenge for which they are completely unprepared. Making its debut in 2028, L'Étape Slovakia will be the newest challenge in Central-Eastern Europe.

For Travel Agents, DMCs, and Incentive Planners

Ok, here it is. L'Étape Slovakia 2028 can essentially curate your packages for you. This event will be a game changer for active incentive travel and sportive cycling groups. Slovakia is a completely underrated destination that has a lot of value, which will make your clients feel good about themselves, and feel like they've made an incredible discovery. Combine this with the high Tatras mountains and Bratislava for some post ride recovery, and you'll have a go. This is definitely the perfect destination for corporate incentive groups who are tired of the same boring golf days. Book in summer 2028 as L'Étape Slovakia will be the perfect post grad trip for everyone who is up for a challenge!
