Rugby World Cup 2027 - 1 Oct – 13 Nov 2027

This is the 11th edition, wow! Australia will host the men’s Rugby World Cup in 2027, ending a 20 year drought since they hosted it last in 2003. This new format will enable participation of twenty-four teams for six weeks commencing on October the first through to thirteen of November in different cities among others; this event is expected to be an international sensation as some of the world’s top teams compete for the Webb Ellis Cup in Australia.

It will feature a new format with six groups of four, plus round16 before quarter-finals. Instead, it changes from seven to six weeks and has minimum rest days between matches such as France 2023.

With hosting three tournaments now Australia becomes the first country to do so after co-hosting with New Zealand during its inaugural edition in 1987 then staging it alone for its third one.
The rugby games will take place in Australian Capital Cities.

There are twelve automatic qualifiers. These are the teams who finished 1st, 2nd and 3rd in their respective pools at Rugby World Cup 2023. The table also shows the ten regional qualifiers. This leaves two final places which will be determined via interregional play-off matches.

A new annual expanded Pacific Nations Cup competition will commence in 2024, featuring Canada, Fiji, Japan, Samoa, Tonga and USA with home fixtures and Japan and USA alternating as finals hosts, guaranteeing a minimum of three additional matches a year for these nations in addition to the new international competition and cross-over fixtures.
Already qualified are South Africa, Japan, England, France, Ireland, Italy, Scotland, Wales, Australia, Fiji, New Zealand and Argentina.

Australia is the perfect host country. We warmly welcome you to these exciting games, beautiful beaches, deserts and stunning cities.
