Europe's EES Is Now Fully in Place

Europe's EES Is Now Fully in Place April 10, 2026 is the date Europe's Entry/Exit System went fully operational. For non-European travellers crossing into the Schengen area, the passport stamp is gone. In its place: a digital record, a facial scan, and your fingerprints. This has been a long time coming. The EES first launched in phased form on October 12, 2025, rolling out gradually across the 29 countries that apply it. Full deployment has taken until now. The system is live, but as with most large-scale border infrastructure projects, live and smooth aren't always the same thing on day one. Who It Applies To The EES covers non-EU nationals entering the Schengen area for a short stay — the standard 90 days in any 180-day period. That's Americans, Brits, Canadians, Australians and Japanese travellers. Also anyone else currently entering visa-free, as well as those travelling on a short-stay Schengen visa. EU and Schengen citizens are not included. Neither are holders of long-stay visas, residence permits, or overseas territory visas. Nationals of Andorra, Monaco, San Marino, and Vatican City are also exempt. If you need help with your next event, incentive, meeting, conference or group to Estonia, please contact us! Data Collection Details At the border, officials now take note of your name, birth date and place, nationality, details of your travel document, and date, time, and geolocation of your border crossing. They take a facial picture, and fingerprints, for ages 12 and above. If you are denied entry, they document that as well. Expect a longer processing time for your first crossing under the EES. This is because your file is being created from scratch. F…

FlyOne Armenia launch direct Vienna–Yerevan flights

FlyOne Armenia launch direct Vienna–Yerevan flights From 3rd April, FlyOne Armenia will officially touch down in Austria with a brand-new direct route between Vienna and Yerevan — because sometimes you really don’t want a layover when adventure is calling. The route will begin serenely, with just one flight per week — no pressure — before ramping up to three flights a week beginning in June. Just in time for summer break, long weekends and spur-of-the-moment “let’s do this” travel decisions. All flights will be aboard the Airbus A320 — reliable, comfortable and perfectly content to fly you directly to the Caucasus. Flight Times That Actually Make Sense The schedule is refreshingly sensible. Flights depart Yerevan at 15:40, landing in Vienna at 17:30 – so you can have a proper (non-tray) dinner. The return flight leaves Vienna at 18:30, back in Yerevan by 23:50 – late enough to feel you squeezed the day dry but not so late that tomorrow is a write-off. If you need help with your next event, incentive, meeting, conference or group to Vienna, please contact us! Strengthening Links to the Caucasus Besides another string on Vienna’s departure board, this new route enhances links between Austria and the Caucasus and is great for simple point to point travel. And for those who don’t like stopping at one destination, travellers can transfer further afield via Yerevan across FlyOne Armenia’s wider network. Which is why Vienna Airport is pleased about it, too; they’re saying the route will be “a welcome offer to meet passenger demand even better and further stimulate tourism.” FlyOne Armenia also considers Vienna to be an important market, so it is clearly perceived as a…
