However, I notice that there is something that you need to keep in mind before I conclude – the cutoff date for Real IDs is fast approaching. Approximately from 7th May, 2025, it would be compulsory for all people from USA wishing to travel domestically to possess a Real ID compliant license or identification, thus it doesn’t make a difference if you are traveling from Austin, Los Angeles or Miami, a Real ID will be a necessity. Indeed, it is in fact mandatory, not optional.
What Exactly Is a Real ID, and Why Should You Care?
In case you’ve been living under a rock (or, let’s be real, just ignoring those emails), the Real ID Act was passed after 9/11 to make our IDs more secure. That’s right, the days of breezing through airport security with just any old driver’s license are coming to an end. The U.S. government is rolling out the Real ID requirement, and it’s about to shake up how we all travel. Don’t worry, though—here’s everything you need to know to stay ahead of the game.
What Exactly Is A Real ID And Why Should You Care?
The real ID is your old driver’s license but better, it meets stricter DHS security regulations. These were conceived back in 2005 by the Congress when they passed the Real ID Act with motives of reducing identity theft crime. Fast forward to now and you’ll need this enchanted card (or some other way like a passport) if you want to fly between American cities, visit federal buildings!
How can you tell if your ID document meets these criteria? Just check the upper right hand corner of your present day identification port card for that tiny star symbol at its top right corner.
How Do You Get A Real Id Without Losing Your Sanity?
To get a genuine real ID, one must go on a state dmv pilgrimage. Requirements vary depending on location; therefore it would be prudent check one’s Department of Motor Vehicles’ page per state for clarification. Avelo Airlines opens operations in Las Vegas
September 7, 2023 - News Las Vegas - Avelo Airlines has set up its sixth US base at the Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas (LAS).
Flight prices begin at $39. The company intends to offer affordable, convenient and reliable national air travel services with this being its second base on the West Coast.
“For as they say ‘Whatever happens in Vega, may only happen in Vega’ and that is why it is our sixth place of choice,” said Andrew Levy — Chairman and CEO of Avelo Airlines.
Avelo will be the sole airline providing direct flights between LAS and these six cities:
Bend / Redmond, Ore. (RDM) — The first flight is today, September 7, 2023, with twice weekly service on Thursdays and Sundays.
Sonoma / Santa Rosa, Calif. (STS) — Starting September 8, 2023, Avelo will double the flight frequency of service on this route to four days per week (Sundays, Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays).
Brownsville, Texas (BRO) — The first flight is tomorrow, September 8, 2023, with twice weekly service on Mondays and Fridays.
