The Importance of St. Blaise in the Life of Dubrovnik
St.Blaise has been helping and protecting the people of Dubrovik since the ten century. It is said that he once warned the citizens about an attacking force allowing the residents to successfully defend against the attackers. Due to that miracle, St. Blaise was to defend the city and throughout the history the people of Dubrovinik have celebrated his mircoalous deeds. To this very day, St. Blaise is still honored along with the countless deeds associated throughout history.

The star attraction of the 2025 St Blaise’s Day celebrations is none other than the grand procession which has been the primary aspect of the said festivities for over a millennium. This parade starts at the Church of Saint Blaise and runs through the compact alleys of the Old Town of Dubrovnik. Dressed in the customs, the participants hold the relics of the saint, and followed by the Wakfs, city officials, and ordinary people, venerate the city.
