Tet 2025: Tet 2025 is the celebration of Lunar New Year which will usher in the Year of Snake on Saturday, January 29. It’s a fresh start and a new beginning with a snake twist! The Vietnamese Lunar New Year is traditionally referred to as the “day that paints the whole town red” for its red color theme. The whole town is painted red, considered to be a sign of luck when you see this around you. However, it is much more than just another “new year” holiday.

However, this season brings families together from everywhere and builds communal harmony. People are excited and grateful for what lies ahead.

On Tet Eve (January 28th), people begin their seven-day celebrations, which will end on February 3rd. This extended week-long holiday allows both locals and tourists to dive deep into the culture. Vietnam streets go from drab to fab; they become magical – it transcends its colours and becomes real. A touch of gold here, a splash of red there — before you know it you’re surrounded by good vibes! And let's not forget about flowers blooming everywhere you go; this festive spirit is contagious!

To gain insight into Vietnamese customs during Tet 2025 industry professionals should do things like sampling various dishes e.g., banh chung (sticky rice cakes) or going to busy flower markets etc. Throughout this time period, there will be an abundant mix of cultural activities happening all over town.

Despite tourism during Tet being thought as one big party by many in reality it serves as bridge between generations past and future ones too come hence tourists seeking such authentic experiences might turn towards them.

As we get closer to Tet 2025, planning for the grand celebration is in full swing. Industry professionals should make sure they engage their clients with Vietnamese culture during these times and find ways they can join in the celebrations too. Whether that looks like curating traditional cultural tours or hosting authentic Tet experiences — there’s no shortage of opportunities.
