Events in Croatia
Croatia is a blessed land which succeeds in greatly preserving its colorful customs and entertaining occasions. Whether it’s festivals in the countryside or leaping festivals in the big cities like Zagreb or Split, something is ever on the go. Multiple events in Croatia however are more about heritage where the people’s music, dance and food come into play.
The outdoor activities especially in summer are quite a great offering, with music performances, movie festivals, and beach partying brightening up the coasts. The annual events which people wait for all year round, include the summer festival of dubrovnik and the Sinjska Alka battle competitions among knights.
It is hard to choose which events we should publish. We are trying to include all the main ones, but if you would like to see another event added, please let us know at:
We add events on a continuous basis. So if you want to stay informed of the latest information, please bookmark this page.

Sinjska Alka
One of the knights' tournaments known as Sinjska Alka is held annually in the town – Sinj in the first week of August. It recalls the local victory against the Ottoman Empire in the 18th century, the event has been celebrated for centuries. Skilled contestants on horses attempt to strike a suspending metal ring with their lances. A fine blending of ceremonies, parade centers and cultural performances, is undeniably one of the best appreciated traditions of Croatia, with the UNESCO recognition.
Feast of St. Blaise
In the month of February every year, there is a great feast in the city of Dubrovnik in honor of the city' s protector, St. Blaise. The Feast Day celebrates the feast of Blaise with a Procession including flags, music and wearing cultural attires. People come for blessings and spend a day in paying respects, with that tradition dating back hundreds of years and deepening the culture of Dubrovik.
