Vappu (May Day)
In Finland, the first day of May can only mean one thing and that is the vibrant celebrations of Vappu Succeeding in this celebration is not limited to just the students and their families as everyone dresses in overalls and hats. It has carnival-like atmosphere thanks to processions, outdoor meals, and merry-making activities and is one of the most celebrated public holidays in the Finnish calendar.
Juhannus ( Midsummer Festival )
The people of Finland celebrate Juhannus, that is Frederick Midsummer Festival, every year in the month of June in commemorate the longest day in a year. With bonfires beside lakes and songs, crowds gather in nature and revel in bright summer nights. Saunas, feast, family or just pure fun in the open skies, since sun hardly goes down at most parts of the country.
