Alilo

On January 7th, Alilo is a traditional Georgian Christmas procession. People in the processions are usually dressed in their traditional clothes and move around singing carols as donations are made towards the poor families. This is a heart-touching moment that shows how religiously rooted Georgia still is and how they come together as one during this festive period.

Rtveli

From late September until early October, Rtveli denotes Georgian grape harvest festival. In this ancient custom, families and communities would come together to pick grapes for wine making which is deeply ingrained in Georgian culture. It is marked by feasting, music and dance; hence it reflects the rich heritage of winemaking and communal values in Georgia.
