Additional Events in Paris

Fête de la Musique

Every June 21st, the streets of Paris come alive for the Fête de la Musique. Because of the sheer volume of events, the city overflows with every type of music, with various performers from professional musicians to even amateur bands. Parisians, as well as tourists, are treated to an extravagant city-deep celebration where music can be heard rather than seen from every possible nook and cranny.

Paris Plages

In summer, the city of Paris converts some sections of the Seine into an urban beach, Paris Plages. From mid-July to mid-August the riverbanks become sandy beaches with deck chairs and towels providing a peace and delightful respite without a departure from the city centre. Swimming, playing sport and even concerts are included so it is a quite good rest from the fervor of the city.
