Events in Prague

There are lots of things to do and see in Prague, which is a cheerful and historical city. This is the reason why the cultural events include so many aspects. There are numerous celebrations and festivals for the whole year round, welcoming all tastes starting with classical music and ending (or rather starting) with cutting edge exhibitions.

There are always the traditional ones such as Easter Markets and Christmas Markets which are the highlights that make all the squares active with local artifacts, foods and music. Global culture and local traditions are intertwined in events organized in the city of prague inclusively. There is always something to see, a film festival, a folk festival, a street performance, these and other events engage many people both the visitors and the residents.

It is hard to choose which events we should publish. We are trying to include all the main ones, but if you would like to see another event added, please let us know at: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

We add events on a continuous basis. So if you want to stay informed of the latest information, please bookmark this page.

Additional Events in Prague

Prague Spring Festival: The Concert of Vintage Charm

Every May, the busy streets of Prague seem to resonate with rhythm because of the Prague Spring Festival. Constructed not quite a century ago, the festival is famous for its classical music concerts and operas within which participate the best prestigious orchestras and soloists from different countries. Taking place in the municipal House of the Czech Republic and the Rudolfinum, it also quite embraces the music history of Prague as well as its modern culture.

Saint Nicholas Eve

On the 5th day of December, another festive event comes forth in Prague as it is a day celebrated by children with Saint Nicholas Eve, a common tradition, where children joyfully look forward to the appearance of Saint Nicholas, the Angel, and the Devil. During the night, they roam the squares offering sweets to the pleasant-humanitarian little hands and a piece of coal to all the naughty ones. It is a happy time in preparation for Christmas in the lovely festive periods of Prague.
