An Exciting Journey Through Northern France

Dates: 5th - 27th July 2025 in Lille, France. The beginning of the Tour de France 2025 looks to be highly anticipated as it will return to the French expected hopps after several years since the beginning of international starts. This 112th edition begins in Lille, deep in the heart of the Hauts-de-France region characterized by its history and culture. On the 5th of July Grand Depart is schedueld for Lille which means the competition is expected to be quite thrilling.

Stage 1: Lille to Lille

The first stage looks to be a spectacle to all riders who aim to climb and sprint as it has some small millage of 185 kilo meters and starts with Lille and also ends up in Lille. The climbs include, Notre Dame de Lorette, Mont Cassel and Mont Noir. A perfect beginning for the tour as well as will be culminated with a thunderous sprint finish.

Step 2: Lauwin-Planque to Boulogne-sur-Mer

Step number two will set off from Lauwin-Planque, a town south of Lille, and it will cover 209 kilometers all the way up to the coastal city of Boulogne-sur-Mer. As it is evident from the distance, this portion of the race will be strenuous for the riders as they will have to cover a decent geographical expanse while battling the hilly elevation that comes their way along with crosswinds. En route along the coastline, there will be a number of sequentially picturesque locations, but these will pose as challenges for the riders who like to get an upper hand early on in the tour.

Step 3: Valenciennes to Dunkerque

For step number three, the riders will travel in an arc from Valenciennes to Dunkirk, Dunkerque taking up 172 kilometers. This step is remarkable due to its flat characteristic features, which will benefit the sprinters yet again; however, the chaotic winds from the coast could greatly influence the race and would most likely break apart the peloton.

Step 4: Amiens to Rouen

For step number four, the race will start from Amiens, which historically is a well known city to Rouen, taking up 173km. This terrain is extremley hilly and challenging.
