Air India Summer 2025 Expansion

Air India Summer 2025 Expansion: More Flights, Fancier Planes, and a Few Temporary Goodbyes
If you thought Air India already had enough flights crisscrossing the globe, guess what? They disagree. So, for Summer 2025, they’re throwing even more planes into the mix, expanding across the UK, Europe, Asia, and Africa like an airline that just realized its frequent flyers have serious travel addiction.
Starting March 30, 2025, Air India is upping its flight game, rolling out aircraft upgrades, and—because every airline loves a plot twist—temporarily suspending a couple of routes. Buckle up; here’s what’s coming your way.

More Flights, More Fun (or at Least More Legroom in Some Cases)
UK: Because One London Flight is Never Enough
- Out of Delhi, the number of flights to London Heathrow is increasing from 21 to 24 each week, which is pretty insane.
- Amritsar–Birmingham goes from 3 to 4 weekly flights, so more people can experience the thrill of explaining Punjabi food to confused Brits.
- From Amritsar, the flights to London Gatwick are rising from 3 to 4 flights a week, which is great.
- Ahmedabad–London Gatwick rises from 3 to 5 weekly flights. Yes, that’s two extra chances a week to land at Gatwick and immediately wish you were at Heathrow.
Europe: Why Not Viste Vienna or The Himalayas After All?
- Delhi–Zurich now has 4 to 5 weekly flights, an increase of a single Swiss chocolate bar taken from duty-free.
- Delhi–Vienna now operates 3 to 4 weekly flights, so there’s no reason not to visit Austria on weekends.
Asia: Bigger Planes, More Drama
- Delhi–Seoul (Incheon) has increased flights from four to five a week. Perfect for anyone wanting to full K-drama.
- Delhi–Hong Kong has been upgraded from an A321 to better seats on a Dreamliner with seven weekly flights. This means less crying babies and more free tickets.
Africa: Let's Visit More Inspiring Places Like Nairobi
- Delhi–Nairobi increased flights from 3 to 4 a week since everyone knows direct flights to safaris make everything more fun.
Fancier Planes, Finally!
Air India’s fleet upgrade is finally happening (no, really), and the first Boeing 787 with brand-new seats and updated entertainment systems rolls out in October 2025. The Boeing 777 fleet? Well, that’s getting pushed to early 2026—because if there’s one thing Boeing is consistent at, it’s delays.
A few routes are going on a temporary holiday:
Melbourne look away, Mumbai’s flight is suspended from March 30 until September 13, 2025. It would be unfair to assume that Australians travel that much don't take it personally.
Kochi has completely paused towards London Gatwick since March 30, without a return date available. But don’t panic. Amritsar, Ahmedabad, and Goa will continue to serve London Gatwick with 12 flights a week.
Air India Summer 2025 Expansion
So there you have it. More flights, shinier planes, and just a couple of unavoidable cancellations. If you’re flying Air India this summer, expect more options, a few new aircraft, and—if you’re really lucky—an entertainment system that actually works.
