Anibar Animation Festival 2025 - A Celebration of Creativity in Kosovo

Dates: 14th - 20th July 2025 in Kosovo.  Anibar Animation Festival 2025 will once again enchant the world, from the Peja region of Kosovo, with its creativity, culture, and community engagement. It is one of the most significant cultural events in the Balkans and now, after it’s inception in 2010, Anibar has made a powerful move to elevate the art of animation to the rest of the world. Just like the gorgeus city of Peja, Kosovo, is a center for tourism, this festival is also a center for tourism.

The Growth and Impact of Anibar

Before becoming the world renowned festival, Anibar Animation Festival was a grassroots project started by a group of youthful activists in Peja. What started as a nexus to screen a couple of animated films has now transformed into a global attraction for filmmakers, animaters, and enthusiasts from every corner of the globe. This 2025 edition commemorates the 16th year since its start, which is a milestone in the animation industry.

Anibar has an amazing impact that goes far beyond mere film presentations. It played a decisive role in shifting the views about animation within Kosovo, elevating it from a tool commonly used in children’s films to a creative discipline. The commitment of the festival towards depicting animation as an integral aspect of social critique has transformed the festival into an emblem of cultural activism in that part of the world.
