Ismail Khodja Mausoleum

Next stop on this fantastic tour – Ismail Khodja Mausoleum (XVIIIc). This mausoleum is decorated so beautifully (even for a mausoleum!) – all these tiles and patterns will drive you crazy! Besides, it’s also a burial place for one important person: Ismail Khodja, who was not only a statesman but also considered to be very religious. The atmosphere there is really serene, so don’t rush and take your time enjoying the spiritual beauty of this spot.

Muhammed Amin Khan Madrassah

Another must-see point on this tour for you and your clients is Muhammed Amin Khan Madrasah which happens to be one of the largest madrasahs in Central Asia (XIXc). It was built on the orders given by khans themselves thus showing off their wealth as well as power at that time period. Whats most striking about it? Of course, its façade covered with lots of mosaics and patterns – just try to count them all! And then go through those ancient halls feeling like you’ve traveled back in time again…

Kunya-Ark Castle (XVI-XVI)

Finish off with Kunya-Ark castle – an old fortress of Khiva khanate (XVII). The whole complex is huge: walls are big, courtyards are grand; everything here speaks of greatness. No doubt, it was a residence for khans that’s why royal chambers can be found inside along with administrative buildings etc.; even mosque was beautifully decorated… By the way, if you get up the castle walls – prepare yourself for some really breathtaking views over city and surrounding area.
