Dubai’s CSR Food Aid Initiative.

Unsustainable access to food is an ongoing problem globally, and support aid initiatives are profoundly needed for the most exposed members of society. Recently in Dubai, 2xceed DMC organized a CSR activity about humanitarian efforts and sustainability. As part of Dubai’s CSR Food Aid Initiative, in partnership with International Humanitarian City (IHC) and Emirates Flight Catering, the participants took part in a prepacked food box preparation event designed to assist in addressing malnutrition.

Packing boxes that were intended for shipment to IHC contained snacks, juices, and other packaged goods considered non-perishable. To ensure the items reached their intended recipients in good condition, each volunteer meticulously placed the non-perishable food items into the boxes. In order to complete the goal of packing a large number of aid packages in one working session, volunteers formed groups and rationed the food items. Facilitating aid within the UAE and abroad became easier after the food boxes were sent to the IHC-operated organizations.

Along with furnishing short-term assistance, Dubai’s CSR Food Aid Initiative helps solve problems related to the sustainability of food by reducing consumption waste and economically irresponsible consumption. The partnership between 2xceed DMC and Emirates Flight Catering enables the most basic and surplus perishable food and non-perishable supplies to be available. This initiative supports the fight against hunger and sustains efforts to build sustainable food systems.

Also, the initiative aimed at helping members of the corporations and the community participate in active humanitarian work to increase awareness of food insecurity issues. When people joined this campaign, they were able to learn more about how sustainability works and why there is a need for corporate social responsibility to be practiced.

This effort did more than address the immediate need for food relief as it further reinforced the concept of corporate responsibility in sustainability. Together with important partners, 2xceed DMC made sure that the food donations went to the right places, thereby cementing the responsibility of businesses in solving broader issues.

On these lines, 2xceed DMC is doing its part for sustainability in Dubai by promoting philanthropy and tourism. Food box packing is a relatively easy task, but more importantly, it is a great example of how corporate partnership can help the world’s food deficit problem. The vision is to encourage other corporations to adopt a wide range of sustainable activities so as to enhance the effectiveness of food aid programs on a global scale.
