The Golden Silk Workshop Cambodia - an amazing activity since 2002

The Golden Silk Workshop Cambodia
Discover the amazing process of the local craftmanship of the Golden Silk Farm.
To escape the hustle and bustle of Siem Reap, Phoenix Voyages would like to suggest to its MICE clients a visit to the extraordinary golden silk workshop in Cambodia, a traditional craft raised to the rank of art by its rarity and long manufacturing process.
45 minutes from the center of Siem Reap, after visiting the women's temple, Bantey Srei, we recommend a stop at Golden Silk, a workshop that has been perpetuating an ancestral Khmer know-how
The Golden Silk Workshop Cambodia
The weaving of golden silk since 2002.
Gold Silk is produced by endangered silkworms that naturally make the precious and resistant yarn of the golden yellow color. This method has been used since the 13th century in traditional craftsmanship.
Your clients will visit this weaving workshop to discover the multiple stages linked to this traditional technique, which prohibits any use of chemical treatments, to obtain a 100% natural silk. Moreover, Golden Silk products are exclusively dyed with natural dyes. Why not make it a competition of the most creative person in the group and let them try their hand at the loom!
We can organize a cocktail or tea break with the local team to take time to chat and admire the fabrics.
Sustainability
More than 100 disadvantaged Cambodian women have been trained in this workshop to ensure a regular income. This is an amazing opportunity to support a community project, while learning more about Khmer’s rich handicrafts as well.
