Born in Takeo, Cambodia, Lim Muy Theam was only a child when he arrived in France in 1978 among thousands of refugees fleeing Cambodia. After graduating from the prestigious Ecole Boulle and the Beaux-Arts in Paris, he returned 15 years later to help rebuild his homeland, which had been ravaged by years of war. Since then, the artist and designer Theam has continued to work for the revival of Cambodian crafts. First founding the Artisans of Angkor, he then devoted himself to a more personal project, which led him to transform his house to preserve Khmer art and crafts, provide knowledge to young apprentices, and continue his creative work. Its structures are as varied as wood and stone, ceramics, silk or bronze. The gallery of paintings also highlights the talent and technique of this great Cambodian artist.

Located in a quiet area and only a 10-minute drive from downtown Siem Reap, his residence and studio are an elegant house-museum with a peaceful tropical garden, displaying paintings and sculptures of the famous artist Theam. Both a place to live and a place to work, this beautiful home of traditional architecture houses a unique collection of arts and crafts that perfectly reflects the cultural identity of Cambodia.
