Events in Vietnam
Vietnam is just fantastic. There aren’t many events, but they are very special. Most of them are related to religious dates or historical events.
They’re always vibrant with live performances, music and dancing. Dragon boat races and street parades feature in most of the organised events.
The Lunar New Year, or Tết, is Vietnam’s biggest and most important festival.

Lim Festival
Celebrated on the 12th or 13th of February to welcome spring.
Held in Bac Ninh province, it is a major three-day celebration of ethnic Vietnamese culture. It is renowned for Quan ho duet singing, which has been recognized by UNESCO as a cultural heritage.
Ghost Festival or Wandering Souls Day
Known variously as Ghost Month, Hungry Ghost Festival or Wandering Souls Day (Vu Lan), the festival takes place across Asia including Vietnam Japan China Taiwan Singapore Malaysia Hong Kong etc In this month people honour their ancestors perform rituals and pay respects to wandering spirits believed to be roaming the earth.
Vietnamese people believe that on one day in late August or early September every year (known as Wandering Souls’ Day), spirits return from the afterlife to visit their former homes.The night before Wandering Souls’ Day prayers flowers and fruits are offered at the graves of ancestors.Paper money clothes etc are burned for spirits to use in the next world The Ghost Month can also be in September around 18
