Events in Vietnam

Vietnam is simply amazing. There are not many events, but they are very special. Most of them are dedicated to religious dates or historic events.

They are always colourful with live performances, music and dance. Dragon boat races and street parades are an important part of most of the events organised.

The Lunar New Year, or Tết, is Vietnam’s largest and most important festival.

It is hard to choose which events we should publish. We are trying to stick to the main ones, but if you would like to see another event added, please let us know at: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

We add events on a continous basis. So if you want to stay informed of the latest information, please bookmark this page.

The Vietnamese believe that on one day in late August or early September, the spirits of ancestors return to visit their earthly homes.

The night before Wandering Souls Day, prayers, flowers and fruits are offered at the graves of the ancestors. Paper money and clothes are burned for spirits to use in the afterlife.
