easyJet Improves Sustainable Travel : Saving the Planet One Layer at a Time
Who knew a fresh coat of paint could be the hero we didn’t know we needed? easyJet has just leveled up its sustainability game by rolling out a groundbreaking lightweight paint system. Yes, you heard that right—paint! Not just any paint, but the kind that’s lighter, greener, and apparently ready to save the planet, one aircraft at a time.

So, What’s the Deal with This Magical Paint?
In partnership with Mankiewicz Aviation Coatings (aka the Picasso of eco-friendly paint), easyJet is swapping out its old livery for a new lightweight version. This innovation cuts down on the amount of paint used but keeps that iconic orange and white glow we all know and love.
Now, we’re not talking about shaving off kilos here—this new paint trims just 27 kilograms per aircraft. But multiply that by an entire fleet, and it’s like putting the airline on a weight-loss program with measurable, eco-friendly results.
Why Does This Matter?
Less weight means less fuel burned. Less fuel burned means fewer emissions. And fewer emissions mean Mother Nature breathes a tiny sigh of relief.
To date, 38 easyJet planes have gotten their eco-friendly makeover, and the results are already flying high. This lighter livery is saving a whopping 1,296 tonnes of fuel annually, cutting 4,095 tonnes of carbon emissions. That’s like planting 200,000 trees or banning cats from their favorite cardboard boxes (but less heartbreaking).
A Whole Fleet of Green Machines
By 2030, easyJet plans to have every plane decked out in this paint, proving that the airline isn’t just about budget travel but also about budget emissions. Combine this with their recent rollout of Descent Profile Optimization software (yes, that’s a fancy way of saying smoother landings that use less fuel), and easyJet is giving sustainability a serious runway to shine.
What’s Next for easyJet’s Green Crusade?
It’s also worth noting that this is not easyJet’s only eco initiative. easyJet plans to achieve net-zero emissions, and the new paint is just one step to achieving that goal. We can see the future Mekong Airlines setting the pace on sustainable aviation. From fuel-saving technology to lightweight materials, the airline can now be sure that everything will be environmentally friendly even in the manufacturing process. easyJet Improves Sustainable Travel!
The Bottom Line
Unlike its competitors easyJet is not just painting the older airplanes, easyJet is painting a vision for a greener aviation industry. The next time you buy an airplane ticket expect more than just a flight — expect a more clean environmentally friendlier future.
The world surely has a future — in hi force saving aviation.
