A Grand Expansion

The airport’s international terminal has expanded from 45,000 square meters to a staggering 65,000 square meters. That's right! More space means more room for confusion, lost luggage, and the inevitable dash to the gate. The barriers at the entrance have been removed, allowing vehicles to pull right up to the airport—because who doesn’t love a bit of last-minute drop-off drama? 

New Features Galore

Inside the terminal, you'll find 40 check-in counters waiting to serve you—37 in the general area, 2 in the SIP hall, and 1 for the VIPs (because some people just can’t handle the regular crowd). Whether you're wrapping your luggage, buying a SIM card, or just looking for an ATM to fund your airport snack binge, you’ll find it all here. With charging stations and vending machines scattered about, the terminal is practically begging you to spend all your money! 

But hold on, there’s more! Upon entering, passengers will be greeted by a state-of-the-art screening area. Be prepared to put your bags through a scanner and walk through a metal detector—because what’s travel without a little bit of TSA-style excitement? 

Keeping You in Check

Ever worried about losing track of time while you’re busy shopping for those overpriced souvenirs? Fear not! The newly installed “Pax Track” system is here to save the day. This nifty technology allows airport staff to track down latecomers (yes, that means you, Mr. Last-Minute Gift Shopper) by scanning your boarding pass and using their special magic to find you before you miss your flight. 

What’s on the Horizon?

But wait—this transformation isn’t over yet! The expansion project will continue until the end of 2025, with plans to merge the arrival and departure halls into a single mega-terminal, increasing the overall area to 105,000 square meters. Imagine the possibilities! More check-in counters, increased border control points, and even more baggage claim belts—because who doesn’t love standing around waiting for their luggage? 

In addition to all that, there will be a lovely open terrace on the second floor facing the city—perfect for those who want to enjoy the view while pondering their life choices after a long flight.
